QUESTIONS FOR THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF THIS FORUM... (3017 hits)

Peace To All:

I know my questions may be deep and three of the 8 questions may be a little hesitant on rather or not to reply. Well I think we as Blackmen and Blackwomen are in need of healing before we can truly unite. Perhaps we can get out of our system questions that we have concerning one another. For the purpose of resolve and healing to come together again as one solid unit. So I will start with these questions adding on as I see fit:

1. How would you describe a happy marriage?

2. How would you define true sisterhood/brotherhood?

3. What would you say is the number one misunderstanding about women?

4. Do you think a woman can change a man and visa - versa?

5. Do you think it is true if a man or woman hits you they will do it again?

6. Should he or she stay in the relationship and try to work it out with the abuser?

7. Same question as above concerning verbal abuse?

8. Brothers what is the number one misunderstanding about men?

Looking forward to some feedback. Remember there are no right or wrong answers.

Peace

Here's my answers:

1. How would you describe a happy marriage?

When each other are patient, loving and understanding toward one another. Also when the marriage is based on honesty and shared interest (spirituality, goals, agreeing on how to raise children, etc.). Taking time to enjoy one another and operating on a maturity level when needed and being most playful when needed, just to name a few. Having a wonderful intimate relationship. Most importantantly never competing or feeling the need to compete with one another.

2. How would you define true sisterhood?

Being for real with one another, giving, sharing, telling the truth regardless, and wanting happiness for your sister as you want for yourself. Just to name a few.

3. What would you say is the number one misunderstanding about woman?

Oh, the number one misunderstanding about us we love drama. That we can't get along, when we express the truth and stand firm with it we want to be a man.

4. Do you think a woman can change a man and visa - versa?

Yes, I think a woman can change a man, and a man can change a woman. By nature, we are drawn to what is already within ourselves, and that means the good and bad aspects of ourselves. Your mate is a reflection of you. When you see something in your mate's characteristic that you don't like, more than likely that is something you need to work on within yourself, and vice versa. That way both of you are affecting a change for each other.

5. Do you think it is true if a man or woman hits you they will do it again?

I've never been in an abusive relationship but yes.

6. Should he or she stay in the relationship and try to work it out with the abuser?

I don't believe that would be in the best interest of the mate who's being abused to stay.

7. Same question as above concerning verbal abuse?

Isn't abuse, abuse? Verbal abuse could lead to physical abuse. Regardless, a person should know that they deserve better than to be with someone who does not respect them or love them.

@ Sister Siebra,
Your questions are many. ((lol)) Is there a time limit to when you need these answers (because I need to give some serious thought to them)? Or better yet, will you be giving away prizes. Of course you know I'm joking...

1. lots of s*x and good home cooked meals
2. one who doesn't sleep with your man
3. hair care products
4. ? depends on what you want to change him into...
5. depends on whether you hit him first
6. depends on whether you 'cut him down' first
7. depends on the dynamics... are there kids (how old), family support, support networks, whether you have car, green card--- proper documents to be in the country, etc...
8. who's male organ is the biggest... ( I'm guessing) Ha!

Wow! Hope there's wrong or right answers...Here's goes..

1. How would you describe a happy marriage?

Two people who have "dedicated" their whole lives in love, trust, bonding with respect and in pleasing obedience to God.

2. How would you define true sisterhood/brotherhood?

Sisterhood/Brotherhood is demonstrating supportive acts that meet and or aid in the accomplishment of a goal that merits in value that serves others.

3. What would you say is the number one misunderstanding about women?

Number one?...This may not be number one, but many are often sterotyped by their "appearances" and the way they dress, act or carry themselves.

4. Do you think a woman can change a man and visa - versa?

Maybe...in the sense influencing one to change, the change has to done by that person.

5. Do you think it is true if a man or woman hits you they will do it again?

It's more likely if it's done once it'll happen again.

6. Should he or she stay in the relationship and try to work it out with the abuser?

If the relationship is abusive, it's probably better to leave it before it worsens.

7. Same question as above concerning verbal abuse?

Abusive is abusive...No one should be subjected to any course of harm. Even with the tongue!

8. Brothers what is the number one misunderstanding about men?

"Well, brothers that your question.."

FIN.

Robert, why do you waste your time commenting on my blogs knowing that your comments will be deleted because of the disrespect that comes off of your fingers?

Better yet, why do you waste time coming to this forum chasing after a person (me) who obviously cannot stand the sight or thought of you?

I hate to say it Robert, but a person as malicious and evil as you are ought to go ahead and kill themselves.

WHEN WILL COMMON SENSE SINK IN WITH YOU? WHEN WILL IT SINK IN WITH YOU?

Siebra--

This is a terrific example of a serious and challenging set of questions abvout real life and reintimate relationships that made us think.

Now, I may not be an AFrican-American man--but my responses would be almost exactly the same as Clark's and pretty close to what Craig said--although he has his own sharp style and wit that is totally unique.

Point is...my responses are no different than the black men.

Although, I have to admit--the winner of the ABSOLUTE BEST answer goes is...
JFad. I vote for her vision of a happy marriage any day!!!
