What Ministers can expect from Obama's Administration (605 hits)

Partner with Communities of Faith--

Faith can be a source of strength in our own lives. It has been to our future President since he first moved to the Windy City,as a young man to work with a coalition of ministers to help the surrounding community, and it certainly is to many Americans.

He has a vision to make faith the foundation of a new project of American renewal. Change comes not from the top down, but from the ground up, and few are closer to the people than our churches, synagogues, temples and mosques.

The vision is to draw on the knowledge that Ministers have to complement government actions. To that end he will establish a New President's Council for Faith -based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

A partnership with non-prof and faith based coalitions and organizations to provide services for the needy and underserved.

This council will train faith based community groups on how to apply for federal grants and comply wiht a web of federal laws and regulations to ensure governors and mayors have the resources they need to support their local community organizatons and evaluate faith-based or secular community -serving non-profits for effectiveness.
