Oprah has gained her success..... Because she has the gift of Gab... anyone who can open up emotions and personal issues on network TV... Lives life by the examples she leads..... and can also GIVE to help others.... Has gotten her to the Highest Paid African American woman for the past how many years!! It's not White Guilt.... This lady knows how to do Business!!!!

I am not the best one to ask about Oprah, but Phil Donahue brought out the Male Feminity thing and then He discovered Oprah and she took his chicago show and style.
Oprah got BIG, literally, with the Homos*xual/Lesbian Growth spurt of the 80-90s--
80-90s suburban females wanted to venture into the inner city and Oprah could get them a license.
Of course she is smart, she capitalized on the homo/les Dollars and the suburban divorced wives need for ghetto. HOORAY---for a steadyMan.

Clark... and I know you remember the two most controversial shows had was with the residents near Fowlstown, GA.... who would not allow blacks in their neighborhood.... But told Oprah... She would be welcome... and he was like the Grand Wizard of the KKK in that area.........
And the show after the Chicago Riots which was so disturbing that she followed up with a continuation of the show the next day......
ONE day during an interview Oprah said that those two shows were the most disturbing takes on Racisim and Oppression that she had ever experienced in her lifetime of TV... And that she would NEVER do a show like that again..... Then she later told the story of how she was treated at this Ritzy Clothing Boutique and how the sales lady treated her.... and when Oprah complained about the customer service .... SHE refused to shop in the store..... And when she invited Tommy Hilfiger to her show... and he commented that HE did not design his clothes for the Black Men.... SHE REFUSED TO air that show!!!! Gloria Vanderbilt ((CNN's ...AC Cooper's mother)) flatly told Oprah... when she designed her clothes, she did not have the black woman's figure in mind.... and when Oprah lost all of this weight early in her career.... She wore a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, designed and tailored personally by GV for Oprah!!!
Also, it was Bill Cosby whom sat down with Oprah and discussed with her.... His disappointment of watching her cater more to white america ..... After this... Oprah had secretively paid tuition to numerous young at risk black youths to major black colleges... and one of her mentorees.... was the young man she interviewed during her earlier taping of the riots which happened in Chicago... who had become bitter, angry..... and had lost all hopes.... I cannot remember his name... BUT he came to FAMU and spoke about the closeness he had developed over the years with her .......... And also, Spike Lee.... when filming the moview Malcolm X... His biggest financial supporters were Cosby.... Winfrey and Mr. Denzel Washington.....
Now Mike Douglas... I thought was the coolest man on TV.... He helped launch quite a few black americans in their career.... Wikipedia.com has the story....

oh... and as for Phil.... He was a Political Guru... He said that he would rather talk about Politics more than anything else.... Because he felt that there was more to learn..... And he did in fact... have some teaching moments on TV when it came down to elections....

Wow Clark... Thanks... she gives that vibe even on television that she's so down to earth... that she know she's been there and not to above herself.... and like you say... she'd greet you on the street like hey wuz up.... I admire her ability to talk and connect with people... perfect strangers... make you feel like... hey she genuinely cares...
WOW!! that's awesome... And you get to talk with her....
When I first started out in college... I had to take this class called Speech Appreciation and I remember we had to choose three people... If we had a chance to meet three famous people who and why....
1. Billie Holiday.....
2. Oprah Winfrey
3. Lorraine Hansberry... in that order respectfully

You have no idea how happy and moved "I" was upon seeing this post. It has been on my mind ever since I saw a sound bite of this on Keith O's Count Down last night and have been since then pictureing it on this site for us all to see in my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
I believe this to be the first mass media assault on Ms O since that WOMAN RIGHT'S group came after her during the presidential elections for backing Mr. Obama and not Hillary...
Ms O did not bite back then to this mass media frenzy will she do so now or just allow him to sink to rock bottom on his own as she allowed the Woman's Rights organization to do?!?

and going off topic Clark, "I" heard in an exchange between Megan Kelly and Shepard Smith this morning on her program Sarah Palin being called an EXEMPLOYEE of he Fox newsnetwork...
anyone heard any thing about her not being one of Fox's news contributers???? and what about that Tv nature program she was suppose to be having, any way?!?
Me, I believe Lady O is going to allow Rush to try nad keep this bull nonsense attempt to build more interest in him to be his own desasterous attempt at ratings. (smile)
