Examiner.com--The African Union (AU) should intervene on behalf of African children to protect them from celebrities who intend to adopt African children to promote their own religious or spiritual agenda. This current celebrity adopt an African child fad closely resembles White missionaries’ efforts to Christianize (save) the Africans during the colonial period. Only this time, it is the celebrities who are taking on the role of “saving” Africa by any means necessary.
Madonna’s adoption of a Malawi child in 2006 is a prime example of how celebrities can circumvent the law. According to Malawi law, any person considering adopting a child in Malawi must be a resident in the country for a minimum of 18 months. However, Madonna was able to adopt a child after only been in the country for nine days.
Madonna was initially denied an attempt to adopt another child in 2009 because of the outcry over the first adoption. However, the decision was reversed and she was allowed to adopt another child. It is highly likely that in both cases, Madonna ability to adopt both children was a result of her generous financial donations to government and court officials.
In retrospect, it appears that Madonna’s motivation to adopt the Malawi children had more to do with Kabbalism than for her sympathy for poor downtrodden African children. Madonna, who was born a Catholic, is now a devoted student of Kabbalism. She adheres to the teaching of Rabbi Philip Berg, who is the leader of the worldwide Kabbalah Center organization. Rabbi Berb’s beliefs are so radical that even some Jewish religious leaders have denounced him.
Madonna is devoted to her Kabbalah teachings. She co-founded an organization called Raising Malawi, which aims to end the poverty and hardship endured by Malawi's 2,000,000 orphans and vulnerable children. What the organization does not reveal is that it also has a Kabbalist agenda interwoven in their humanitarian efforts. The organization will utilize the Kabbalah Center’s global youth program, Spirituality for Kids (SFK). SPK purpose is to encourage children to recognize their own goodness, see the light, and utilize their “spiritual powers”.
Madonna has shown “by any means necessary” that she is willing to financially support the spread of Kabbalism in Malawi. She has raised millions of dollars for Raising Malawi and currently using Malawi as a model to spread Kabbalism to other parts of Africa.
Since many governmental and court officials can be bribed, the AU should adopt a new law to protect the children of Africa. This new law should prevent individuals who seek to adopt African children from circumventing adoption laws and prevent individuals who seek to promote a hidden agenda that undermines the history, culture, and religious beliefs of African children. Africa does not need a new religion or spirituality, whether it is Kabbalism or any other new age belief. What Africa needs is genuine, unconditional assistance, without a hidden political, religious, or spiritual agenda.
