NEW ORLEANS-- A child-support hearing officer has deleted his Facebook page after posting that a father of 23 children has "too much time on his hands."
A representative for William Dunckelman, the hearing officer, told WDSU Channel 6 News that he regrets comments.
Dunckelman made the comments about 41-year-old Larry Luther, who appeared before Dunckelman in a child-support case.
"Just had a fellow leave child support court. He works as a bouncer and has twenty-three (23) children!" the post read. "Of course he gets paid cash and thus pays no (0) taxes. I think he needs another job as he has way too much time on his hands! What do you think?"
Luther said he is a hard worker and a supportive father, and he plans to file a complaint with the Louisiana Judiciary Commission.
"If I had my free time, what I do with it, I do with it, as long as I'm not violating no laws," Luther said.
The child support hearing was in regards to one of his children, who was in state custody after the boy's mother was arrested. The state filed for support from Luther, resulting in the hearing, the Houma Courier reported.
"I want him to respect other people's business that goes on in court," Luther said. "It is public knowledge, (but) it ain't his duty to make it public knowledge by posting it on Facebook."
