FOOD FOR THOUGHT: A DISCUSSION ON WORSHIP...WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU? (1249 hits)

On a local R&B station here in New Orleans their was a discussion on worship. The host of the morning radio show posed this idea that when we speak in a different language we are speaking from the reality of the people that speak that language.

One of the regular callers of the show posed another view that every language is from the world view of the people of that language.

My question is what does worship mean to you?

And how has the African Conscious person benefited, or been put at a disadvantage by being forced to think in the mind, language, of an oppressing force for 400 plus years?

Worship to me is to contemplate Allah in three places, (your actions, your saying and your heart) so that your contemplation may be complete. Worship Allaah as if you see Him and witness Him with the eye, and if you do not see Him then go to the next station below this: then indeed He sees you.

So the first station is to worship Him out of hope and desire. The next is to worship Him out of fear and awe...and if you do not see Him, then indeed He sees you.

To me, the African Conscious person has been put at a disadvantage by being forced to think in the mind, language, of an oppressing force for 400 plus years because in all honesty, at the end of the day we truly can’t defend ourselves against this government (so-called enemy). We are too far outnumbered by their law enforcement agencies and more importantly, we are too dependent on those who hate us.

WORSHIP: The referent love and allegiance accorded a deity, idol, or sacred object. .."I" believe is so unique to the individual's choice until it seem we would rather condemn ...one's WORSHIPINGS...than to try to understand...

No disrespect Faith, but it is such a shame that so many religions refuse to teach us that we have powers to over come. example, We have a natural born instinct to survive and to heal our own mental and physical problems all we have to do is trust our ownselves to always OVER COME on our own.(smile)
