From Heathen to Warrior: A Black Woman's journey (267 hits)

I don 't remember ever reading about a "Black American" being a member of the Church of Satan! It was intriguing to me anthropologically. If you get a chance read page 114 of Ebony for November.

The story says that this Philadelphia woman used Ouija boards, and other presumably objects from dark forces, to deal with the pain of her childhood abuse. (This theme is getting way too popular.) A "master astrologer" she is quoted as saying.

An attachment to her cat, (I wonder is she used the cat in rituals,) led her to question if there was a God, as her cat was dying. The amazing miracle is how gloriously she was used as an instrument to do God's work. Apparently she became a thorough student of scripture and ended up in some small Island of the South China Sea, called Cagayancillo in the Phillipines.

She moved there in 1986 and is the "first Black woman to help prepare a written version of the New Testament " in the language of Kagayanen. In her work for the Lord, she let in the light to people who lived in darkness. Jacqueline Huggins, would definitely qualify as a hero.

A true Christian soldier. Living in humble and austere conditions. Far away from everything she knows , but with her "best"friend always by her side. Oh yes we can, seems such a trite saying, but look at the accomplishment of this woman who left 37 years-ago to serve the Lord. She is now 65-years old, still young.

These are the kinds of women that leave me in awe.
